Orpington Folk Music and Song Club (Orpington folk club)

Orpington Folk Club is the oldest continuous running folk clubs in Kent. It is a largely acoustic club with the occasional electric bass and electric guitars, sometimes with the use of a PA set-up. The music comes from a wide range o sources Scottish, Irish, Welsh and music from around the world. Well within reach of SE London, towns and villages Bromley, Sidcup, Chislehurst, Sevenoaks and Pettswood by car and public transport. We are often visited by groups and individuals from abroad who are on tour in the UK (United Kingdom). There is also a Folk Club on Friday nights called Fridayfolk who are also based in Orpington, but we are the original Orpington Folk Club. This site is here to help you find out what's on at the club and provide information on guest(s), contacts and other useful information.

you phone or email us first, especially if coming from a long way.

On singers / musicians nights we welcome performers of any ability,
but on guest nights we have to be selective.

29th	SINGERS & MUSICIANS NIGHT (Open Mike in the Bar)
NOVEMBER :
19th	FRAN McGILLIVRAY & MIKE BURKE Very hard working duo. They've been together since the late 1970s, playing folk, roots and blues. Mick accompanies Fran's smoky vocals on guitar. She also plays bass guitar and occasional flute.
26th	SINGERS & MUSICIANS NIGHT (Open to All)
DECEMBER :
3rd	CHRIS SARJEANT & BENEDICT TAYLOR Chris and Benedict became friends while studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. Chris originally studied the Piano and Benedict concentrating mainly on the Viola during their student years. Later they turned their attentions to something a little more rustic after being bitten by the folk bug. They have been playing together now as a duo specialising mostly in English traditional material for around two years, With impeccable fiddle and guitar work, they are one of the best duos around performing traditional material.

17th	IAN PETRIE BAND The Boys are back again! Another end of the year special featuring their well liked mixed of light rock, pop, country and folk.
