Hailing from Shetland, Jenna is a young award winning fiddler - and needless to say is a fabulous talent. (She also plays accordion). She started with the family band Filska and is also now with the Highland all female band Dochas and is the newest member of Deaf Shepherd.
On this, her debut solo CD she plays a selection of airs, reels and jigs and is accompanied by Harris Playfair - piano, Kevin Mackenzie - guitars, Duncan Lyall - double bass and Paul Jennings - percussion.
Most of the tunes are new to me, but I note among the composers James Hill, J Scott Skinner, Tom Anderson and Willie Anderson - so high quality is assured. I have two stand out tracks - the medley 'The Hurricane' and the tour de force 'Princess Beatrice' - where she really lets rip.
