Front Parlour Ballads

This was released on August e to coincide with concerts in London and Edinburgh and Cropredy Festival. He will be undertaking a full tour in 2006. Some of the songs are familiar like 'The Boys of Mutton Street', but I needed more time to get into some of the others even with the help of the lyrics in the booklet. Richard is enigmatic and without the publicity handout I wouldn't have known 'Let it Blow' is about quickie marriages and 'Row Boys Row' a voyage through the rough seas of the big-time music business.
Production is also low key with just himself and Debra Dobkin on percussion.
