The Witches are Bryony Griffith, Fay Field, Becky Stockwell and Gillian Tolfrey and this is their second CD. They are an a cappella harmony group singing traditional songs. The harmonies are pleasant and contrast with the solo lines. They sing with gusto and this CD is very varied, from a version of The Coventry Carol to a Jake Thackray song about counting sheep 'Old Molly Metcalfe'. My only complaint is that lyrics are not provided and I couldn't follow the words on 'The Squire's Daughter' - it sounded quite interesting.
