Leon Rosselson is one of our premier singer songwriters. I remember him mainly for songs such as 'Don't Get Married, Girls', 'She Was Crazy, He Was Mad' and 'Tim McGuire', which are sharp, satirical, witty and most important - entertaining. All songwriters have their darker side and this collection, which ranges over 40 years from 1963 to 2004, features this kind of material.
The only 'light song' is 'Jumbo the Elephant', most of the rest having a political slant and obviously critical of government hierarchies.
Leon is the featured singer and is joined (among others) by Frankie Armstrong, Martin Carthy and Robb Johnson.
