This is an album of hurdy-gurdy music also featuring Andy Cutting, Mark Davies. Paul James, Julie Murphy and Becky Price.
Nigel is, of course, well renowned as a 'gurdy player and was a leading light in Blowzabella.
There are fifteen tracks, all but one written or co written by Nigel. These are jigs, bourrees and mazurka/waltzes. My favourite is the seven minute hurdy-gurdy concerto of Michel Corrette where the 'gurdy blends in nicely with the harpsichord. For variety we also have Julie Murphy singing Break of the Day and excursions into 'hurdy-pop' which features dance beats and programmed effects.
