The inspiration, Cortanze Castle is a mythical place where the ghosts of the folk music traditions reside to play their music together. It results in an introspective CD of Irish tunes and songs both traditional and composed.
Broderick are a five piece consisting of Luke Daniels (accordion), Colm Murphy (fiddle), Clare Garrard (fiddle), Don Oeters (guitar) and Rick Foot (bass), with guests Jon Boden, Declan Folan, Steafan Hannigan and JD Gandhy.
The instrumental techniques and arrangements are of course beyond question, but I have reservations about Luke as lead singer.
