Another on the Old and New Tradition label. Louis of course was one of the pioneers in the folk music revival that started in the 1950's and became a 'professional folk singer' before departing to America. As I remember him I had a strong voice and heavily featured sea songs in his repertoire. He also accompanied himself on English Concertina.
This album is a digital remastering of the cassette recorded in OMB Studio in Washington D.C. in 1989. Two extra tracks Barbara Allen and Patrick Spens, recorded in 2000 in England are Included.
The tracks are familiar traditional fare such as 'One April Morning', 'Grand Conversation on Napoleon', 'Bogies Bonny Belle', all sung with conviction and power.
