but on guest nights we have to be selective.

The Life & Music of Clive Palmer

Hi Orpington Folk Club,
To celebrate my booklaunch "The Life & Music of Clive Palmer" there will be a gig at the 12 Bar Club in Denmark Street, London on Saturday 24th May 2008 at 7.30. Tickets are priced at £10 and the support will be Wizz Jones. Clive will be bringing his five piece band see photo who have never played outside Cornwall where Clive now lives He will be playing music from his whole career and this is a very rare chance to see him in London.

LIZ SIMCOCK TRIO

Liz is a singer / songwriter of her own enigmatic songs. She performs a varied set, including songs of loss and unrequited love among more upbeat numbers. Her voice and melodies are sweet without being cloying and her tunes have a habit of sticking in your mind afterwards. She is normally found in the company of Ian Newman (bass) and Warwick Jones (guitar)

ALISHA SUFIT

One time member of the 1970s psychedelic folk band Magic Carpet, singer / songwriter Alisha Sufit performs her own compositions plus traditional folk songs, self-accompanied, on acoustic guitar and Appalachian dulcimer. Over the years she has had a varied career and has several CDs to her credit.

Singers' Nights are a popular part of the club's program with all types of acoustic folk music and songs performed.
This is the chance for SOLO or GROUPS of singer musicians to come and showcase their talent.

A repeat of last years format. Hartley dance outside and then 'take over' the singers night inside the pub.

Tonight Hartley Morris will be dancing out side The Change of Horses @ around 9:30pm,
and at the same time the OFC will have a regular singers night.
Later on Hartley will take over and give voice in the club room.

Hartley Morris make donations from their collections to; Kent Air Ambulance,
Vintage Bus Preservation club, National Trust, Folk in Kent and the
Police Benevolent Fund.

Jed has been to the club a couple of times and he always gives a first rate performance. He brings his usual mix of great guitar, good songs well sung, all presented with natural northern charm.

A chance for visitors to perform and the added bonus of an extended slot from Paul Steele. He is a club regular and can be guaranteed to give an emotional performance.
